I actually only attend the events because I find the people interesting, but for them to support my career path? Unlikely. I went to at least 3 or 4 events and found that people were business-oriented. Networking was a crock and I would rather stick to interaction design association type things. She knew from the very beginning that admission fee often prevents people from attending. And I know from experience, this often was a difficult barrier to cross.<\/p>\n
So why give me grief? She knows that I am not the entrepreneurship type. I do have that slight innovation slant, but I would rather someone else come up with the problem…and I design it. Maybe if this was the first time I met people, but it isn\\’t. It\\’s the second, third, fourth time.
