My mom dragged me out of bed at 8:30 am in the morning so that we could go to our grandmother's place so that I could "fix" her computer. Somehow my dad wasn't able to set up my grandmother's e-mail account for netzero. A simple click was all that was needed.
Yet I wish that my grandmother could read English. It was already hard enough with the language barrier to try to teach her how to write an e-mail.
"Just click ok," she said repeatedly.
The funny thing was when she told me a story that occured a few days ago. She had turned on the computer and decided to cook something. Then she came about ten minutes later and the screen was blank. She tried turning on the monitor, but the monitor still remained black. The light was orange. She became frantic and called our house, but nobody was home. Then she called a friend, who decided that she needed to pull the plug. Then she pulled the plug.
The computer was sleeping!
My sister bought me a ticket to the senior fashion show. I must admit that I had a cynical view. Last year, I had almost been bored to tears...scene after scene of girls...prancing around the stage...basically advertising their body.
Well it was interesting. The hosts were more entertaining, especially with their sumo outfits...and the joking constant inferiority complex. :)
After Tuesday (seven hours of straight shopping and hearing "omg, that's so cute!" <--referring to clothes), I was somewhat desensitized to all the clothing. Although the program said that people were using new clothes, I knew that most were actually using their own clothing. That's the way to fundraise.
Rob and Dan dropped by. Hehe, I don't know how they can survive all these Acalanes events--the musical, the talent show...and this.
They had fifty cent ice cream though. :) Yummy!
