So where does all that holiday cheer really go?

I know it's dumb, but I want to be immersed in the Hallmark Christmas holiday. Where the children run down the stairs on a snowy christmas morning to be greeted with brightly wrapped presents.

Instead, I woke up to my mom's constant bickerings that we would need to leave in five minutes. My blanket felt uncomfortable. Outside, the grass still shone green in the chilly sun. Yes, it can be cold in California. Then we went to church. Hmm...yes. Found some sour worms under the "Paradise" tree. Returned home. Opened the presents we had...under an artifical tree decorated with only 10 oranments. No garlands. No strings of lights. CD wallet that my dad probably got free after rebate at OfficeMax. Then a lantern keychain. J Crew flip flops that I had wanted...but didn't want. My sis is cool. :D
The most holiday spirit I had today was when I went to the United Methodist Church in Walnut Creek to volunteer. It was pretty cool. Yet, at first, I was extremely weary. Personally, I never liked socialization. I never liked people bothering me... And so I was a hypocrite. Nonetheless, I was told to wait tables and serve food, which was sort of fun. I felt like i was bothering a lot of the people that came in. My sis was bouncing from table to table, yapping happily. She had told me before how she thought old ladies were just so cute...just like little babies. Hmmm.. It was fun serving the families though. :)
Had a xmas dinner with my sister and dad. Yes, like every christmas, my mom was off at work. Ham...beans...and rice. Watched tv. Then here I am.
