sideways trip

Curiousity was killing me. I wanted to know. I spent the night at Stacey's place. I was amazed at the high ceilings which were scary at first, but I got used to them after spending some time at her computer...yes...using AIM.

Worries of how I almost missed my flight last year made me set my cell phone alarm at 7 am. Somehow I knew I wouldn't have a restless sleep like the last time I slept over at my friend's place. Then I promptly rolled out of bed (thanks stacey for the hospitability!) at 7 am...and yanked on my clothes. Then I woke up Stacey...and drove to the Oakland airport. Being the usual driver I am, I refused to make a U-turn in the middle of the road. Should have...somehow I got to the Costco in San Leandro. Eventually, we made it to the airport where I dropped off Stacey so that she could find Brando. I circled around the airport twice...telling myself...that I may not drive to the airport for a long time. Traffic people are scary. :p
So I finally got to meet Brando. Strangely enough, it reminded me exactly of how I would go to the airport to pick up Alan. Such bittersweetness. These are the times when we all wish we can read minds. After stuffing Brando into the backseat of my special Integra, we drove to Japhy's underground residence. 'Twas interesting how all the stuff I heard from Stacey came to life. First impressions: white guys are scary. Intimidation. I suppose I am still tainted with the thought that white guys would make fun of me as they did in Burton Valley elementary school. I stood in the doorway of Japhy's room, feeling a bit awkward. Stacey decided to go visit Simon...at once, I felt the...distance that existed between the people in the small room. Would like that computer monitor though. :)

Visited Simon. He still hadn't changed from his weird self. Got my special xmas presents. :D! Maybe I am too aware of things, but I could tell that Simon's brother felt a bit awkward lying in the top bunk watching the three of us bounce around the puny house. Got a Dilbert Calender, chocolate orange, and another chocolate raspberry from Simon. Oooooh and a xmas card!!! :D We went to visit Adrian. The guy who had sent me a fake picture. "When I saw it, I laughed!" Simon said. Right. Adrian turned out to be puny too. Shorter than Simon. Had a computer right in the middle of the living room. Should have made fun of him more.

Went to Ole's Waffle Shop where I got a stomache either from too many jelly beans or waking up too early. Couldn't finish my waffle and hash browns which normally I would have finished in five minutes flat. Waitress being...grouchy.

Went to my apartment to burn the Calling's Camino Palmero and the self-titled album by Jimmy Eat World. Finally. My roommate Emily had decided to turn off the power and it took awhile for me to figure out why the dsl modem wasn't working. :p Almost lost the keys. Stacey was the third person to have climbed the fire escape. Simon was the fourth. :)

Oh yes, I made fun of Simon again. :) He ate a Mexican Pizza instead of a Taco. Must make fun of him for buying the crickets, which he played with...but let out. I don't know whether that purchase was for pure pleasure or just insect torture.

Simon and Stacee were leading me to a church. Okay, so the first thing that came to mind...was *gag*...fellowship? Somehow in the past few weeks, I have been constantly pressured to be more..."religious" in some way. Respect. Anyway, I held my breath while we waited outside for people to arrive. I assumed that it was a meeting...for young people. A guy in a rice rocket pulled up into the parking lot yelling at Simon to help carry DDR pads. Inside, we promptly started playing DDR. Even after a year of playing Dance Dance Revolution and Pump It Up, I could barely pass any of the songs. One of the people there, Mike, was...well to say the least..rude. :p
"Chinese naturally have no sense of rhythm."
I abruptly turned around from the current dance to comment. "YES!"
"Well, I didn't mean you guys!" he gestured toward us, playing DDR...watching as we barely passed the level.
Later on, we somehow ended playing Normal where he obnoxiously shouted when we couldn't pass the level, "Didn't I tell you play beginner?"
Needless to say, I was also insulted by how he was recommending that we stomp on the floor..hard. I think I must be cranky too. My whole body shook with each earthquaking step he took. And yet...Alan, Tom, Lydia and Sam have told me not to stomp hard...because the pad is already sensitive to my steps. Uh, yeah.

Interesting...trip. :)
