Not better, but just more...

This time it's on my own.
Minutes from somewhere else.
Somewhere I made a wish with Lucky Denver Mint.
Hurry go on ahead.
Good things won't let you wait.
I'll catch up when we get home.
At home I'll leave.
A dollar under water keeps on dreaming for me.
You're not bigger than this, not better.
Why can't you learn?

Okay, it was the Clarity album...but then maybe it was a mix. Hmmm...

Yesterday night, I have realized how far I have come. For the last two years, I wrote a profile of myself...my likes, my dislikes...and especially a list of my set of friends. They were dramatically different each year. Only a few have stayed on my list. But yet, there were the wishes that i made. Most have come true, because I was determined for them to happen. But I never realized the consequences of those wishes. What I thought was the way to happiness was only the way to have experienced ectasy in a bittersweet second.

You never stopped to weep
so why are you still remembering?
Tinge of bittersweetness
happens in one millisecond
Only desiring to be better
than the faceless opponent.

I woke up. My cellphone was going off, but I couldn't find it. I had just woken from a dream where I had betrayed one of my friends. I felt so full of filth. Does loyalty always succumb to desire?
After some of the usual disagreements, my sis and I were on our way to Cupertino. The same argument about how our independence were bounded by our parents' rules when we were over 18 was irritating. We eventually boarded the BART and headed to the Fremont station. I promptly put on my headphones and listened to the CDs I burnt yesterday. The Calling and Jimmy Eat World. By the end of the long, tedious BART ride, each song was becoming individual and unique. We wandered around in the rain for about an hour until my sister's friend, Channing picked us up. Somehow my sis got mixed up with Civic Center and Walnut Avenue. :p Eventually, we were zooming off to AMC 20. Here's where I wonder...aren't all AMCs 20? Then again there's no AMC up here in the East Bay. At least not within the 10 mile radius of my house where I usually bounded in. By some miracle, we were able to make it to the movie on time. Yes, being me, I wasn't able to close the umbellra that Josh, yet another of my sister's friends from UCSD, lent me. And as idiotic as they come, I ran into the theater with the umbellra opened wide...forcing myself through the crowd. What a sight. The Lord of the Rings had just started the moment we stepped in the theater. Earlier, Josh trying to get the name of the woman who would have our tickets: "Juanita or Bonita?" Haha. It was hard to find seats, but my sis and I found two seats in the third row on the right. Note to self, no matter what movie I see...no matter what theater I will be in, I will always get dizzy if I sit in the front section of the theater. The sweeping scenes were breathtaking. The storyline was entertaining. But...I thought Peter Jackson, the director, had cut too close to the action, making some parts of the movie dizzying. It should have panned out more during the fighting scenes rather than focusing on the characters' faces. Yet, perhaps that is the point. I can't recall how many times we had to get a close up of the ring in Frodo's hobbit hand. Nonetheless, I must admit...the fantasy world of Middle Earth is absorbing.
Afterwards, I rode in Berndette's car. She was the one who drove an Acura with a seatwarmer. Just like Kev P. We went to Solomon's house. A guy from SDSU, who I had met once when I went to UCSD. The guys played Xbox. Impressive. They started playing Dead or Alive, which immediately reminded me of the experience I had with Street Fighter in Sam's dorm. Somehow Josh had figured out all the nifty moves...that the three-dimensional anime-like woman needed for a KO...in just a few minutes. Guys' game, duh. After everybody else had arrived...and yes Solomon came last...we went to Romono's Macroni Grill. Because there were so many of us, we had to wait for approximately thrity minutes for a table. Some of us headed to a nearby Good Guys...to "walk around" as the only white guy there put it. My sis kept making her friend Ellen laugh. Hehe, now I get it!!! :D CD players...I want. Mp3 players I want. A new Jabra headset for my cell...I want. Digital camera...omg!!! Must need!
It was an interesting sight watching the seventeen of us sit at a table. The server had paper spread on the table...with Carina written every foot. No doubt that was her name. There were also crayons scattered about. Yes, they most likely considered us...an immature group. And indeed, when a guy named Eric kept contaiminating the pitcher of water she had placed on the table...with pepper and salt. I ordered the Mama's trio which turned out to be a disappointment with its small portion. It was a sampling of the most popular dishes of the restaurant--grilled chicken breast, lasagna, and chicken pasta. Unfortunately, it was only adequately filling, which probably was their intention of not wasting that much food. So we went through the feast drawing on the paper (Channing and my sis kept making arrows pointing at everything on the table. I wrote waaaddaaaa and pointed that to my glass of water.) and taking pictures. I was the only one that had a non-digital camera. Sigh...how passe! The bill turned out to be a hefty $200. :) I am sure the server deserved the huge tip especially after she gave us a new pitcher of water each time Eric contanimated it with his immature antics. Good stuff. :)

And then...off to Fremont where we took a long ride back home...
