My ego is having a lot of trouble trying to settle a compromise between the superego and the id.
My mother (aka motha according to my sis) woke me up in the usual nagging voice. Tsk tsk! Your clothes are still wet! Why did you leave them on your sister's bed so that they would be thrown on the ground when she goes to sleep? AGH! Why didn't you hang up your skirt from yesterday? Be organized! Be neat!!! Aiya! Your room is a mess again. Your father wants to say something to you...
Okay, so that was my morning...despite my anxiety that I would be late for a 2:00 pm RCC appointment, I decided to go to Costco with the entire family. :p I sometimes wonder though...how often do entire families actually go grocery shopping together? Or actually eat out together? Should I be like everyone else? I remember Alston asking once, "What do your folks do for fun? When I came in, they were just sitting down watching tv." I couldn't answer that question, because personally I really didn't know what my parents did for fun. I don't think they have gone out together for years. Yet, so there I was in Costco trying to find push pins. I had used up an entire box trying to put up photos in my dorm. I used more than eight to put up my lemon poster. Lemons=good. I spent nearly half an hour going up and down the aisles, but then I finally found related items...near a huge stack of phone cards. Unfortunately, yes...there weren't any. So much for my search. Oh and not to mention, they didn't have any vanilla pudding. They only had yucky chocolate pudding. What kind of place is this Costco? Then I also looked for Honey Grahams, but they didn't have that either. In the end, I got a large box of graham crackers so that I could satiate spurts of hunger in the dorm. My sister got a large bag of candy.
The line was long of course. The most noticeable aspect of warehouses. Once again...trying to squeeze myself through the throngs of people...faintness...too much stimulation. Perhaps, I am exaggerating...yah know just like uncomfy Steve. :)
