in the computing center

I remember the other day I was sitting at the counter fixing yet another laptop. I had come in for no reason at all. Maybe it was because I had wanted to see him.

(This is an unhealthy obsession by the way.)

He turned to the Mac and showed me a webpage from his high school–it was a website made for some club. I nodded in mild admiration, saying that it looked very early-2000ish.

He laughed and said, \”I made it at the end of 2001. It won the webpage contest.\”

I gave a slight smile. Knowing that he was a regent and probably still succeeding made me gulp. \”How diverse was your high school?\” I asked.

He showed me pictures from his class. I looked a little closer at the webpage and realized it was hosted at geocities. \”Do they still use this webpage?\”

\”Oh no no…I am the only one who has access to it,\” he replied as I was swinging nervously on the swivel chair. \”I haven\’t updated since I won the contest.\”

He laughed again.
