I know that he is a non-smoker. Got so enamored with surfing while in New Zealand that he bought a house in Southern California so that he could be close to the beach all the time. Originally born in Berlin and grew up in England. Before lotr, he was well known as an actor in a mystery tv series. He is also 5 years my senior beyond the 2 year limit I had set for myself. He is the tallest of all the hobbit actors.
