I like challenges. Especially challenges that I know I have a handle over.
So I was really unhappy today when I discovered the phd student today took the responsibility I had (to code a front-end to the event listing project). He just haphazardly coded a small app in asp to display the data from sql server. It really bothered me that…he just did it. I said I would do it. And I did it in php. I have it working now, just that it isn\’t displaying that great.
I admit that I am not that great at php, but I am pissed that he just decided that I wasn\’t good enough and just did it on his own. It\’s as if he doesn\’t trust my ability to do well. What happened to teamwork? He is such an independent person and I thought working with others would be such a good thing. Why did he have to insist on sql server? Why not mysql? It\’s unfair that I have to sit through this.
Maybe I\’ll give him a talk. I don\’t like the picture he used by the way.
