I don\’t know, maybe I was too aware, but yesterday I was slightly insulted by one of the ETC guys I met at the party.
Just one incident I guess.
I thought it would be funny if I was in a picture where I was surrounded by two guys. Like a pimp as I did so much in past years. Always the one with guy friends.
One was my good friend from cmu, who always naturally wanted to have his arm around me. The other guy, I had just met. I waved him over to my right for the photo opportunity.
He mumbled, \”But I have a girlfriend…\”
I said in a low voice, \”I know.\”
That was just a photo op, nothing more. Totally harmless and innocous. I was slightly insulted that he said such a thing, because I wasn\’t interested. Why does any move, any talk has to be taken in the wrong way.
People should assume that I am not interested unless I say so. Or at least until it\’s obvious.
