Sam S.

I first saw him as a bio picture on the ETC page. I was trying to look for the name of the guy I had met at bowling. Someone who lived in Michele\’s building. I forgot how the guy looked like and thought maybe it was this Sam.

But it wasn\’t. This Sam can graduated from CMU and I remembered that the guy had gone to Puerto Rico.

Fast forward another semester and suddenly we had the Monday night party.

I saw Sam…and due to my usual incessant need to prove my worthiness, I was blantantly talking to people whose names I knew.

Someone found out that I was in HCI and called Sam over.

\”You\’re Sam!\” I exclaimed.

He looked at me in hesitation. \”Do I know you?\”

\”Oh no…I am Jenn,\” I put out my hand in a greeting shake.

We talked some and I was surprised how we easily related. Talking about essays, about the philosophy of games. But suddenly the conversation ended. I was whisked away somewhere, somehow.

In game design, I saw that he purposefully sat in front of me and asked if I wanted a M&M. I was in my chocolate fit phase and took one greedily, saying thanks. He walked out of class then.

I added him on facebook later just for kicks. And then he poked me yesterday. I poked him back. One of those silly things in facebook, but I didn\’t know what it meant.

I suddenly realized he had sat behind me today in game design. We exchanged a minute of small talk…and said goodbyes as class ended.

The end.
