shake the gum disease

So like. My very expensive dentist said that I had gum disease and could have the possibility of have my teeth falling out. It sure seemed like a scare tactic, but I have heard constantly from dentists and the like that I don\’t brush well enough, that I don\’t floss enough.

Ok. I give up.

So on my last visit, my dentist gives me this annoyingly expensive deep cleaning. So I get numbed down and they insert all these metal instruments into my mouth. Personally, it just seems much less painful than a regular cleaning. But anyway, my prognosis is now that I have to brush and floss after every meal \”until my gums get better\”.

Ok. So here I am imagining scenarios where I can\’t floss and brush after every meal. I could tell the dentist that such a treatment is impossible. That I couldn\’t adhere to it. But then I realized the dentist would probably give me this look that said DO IT. And he\’s right of course. If it\’s important to you, then you will make time for it.

And I rationalized saying that it has got to be easier than working out. Just 10 minutes of my time during the day rather than the 30-45 minutes per day to work out to stay in shape.

I constantly think of excuses, reasons that prevent me from doing something. People call that fatalistic. But it\’s just my way of dealing with frustrations.
