Throughout class, we exchanged smiles. Sideways glances. I like sitting next to him.
Toward the end (after a disaster in the group part where I felt ignored), he folded up a piece of paper into a shape of a paper football. He put it on the corner of my desk. He had written while not paying attention to the lecture my name surrounded by two hearts. I smiled and giggled under my breath as I gave him a sideways glance.
He took it away, almost in hesitation.
But then afterwards as we were walking out of class, complaining about the content of the lecture (which I actually found fascinating)…he joked that inside he had written \”will you go out with me? yes, no, maybe.\” I just smiled and laughed, but didn\’t answer. I told him that I thought it was a paper football that he was going to throw.
It was a sweet moment. He almost looked disappointed when I stepped out at 4th rather than 3rd, him saying, \”I thought you were going to lab.\”
