Yesterday, I asked this aloud.
Last year, I remember the frustration, the intensity, and the irritation. I remember his disrespect for others—especially how he insulted Will in front of everyone. It was a behavior that I rarely saw in the workplace. And usually when I see that, people like that get shuffled off quickly.
Today, I wondered about what he said yesterday. About how he has been stripped of his responsibilities to a role of a production manager. Although I said nothing, I replayed all the conversations people had with me. The \”he makes my life living hell\” and \”he is the reason that I quit\”.
CJ must know that people quit because of him. Yet what can you say when you are confronted with that question? I stood back, trying to understand whether it was me, him or the company. Yet, it was overwhelming. The multiple moving parts meant there was no real just reason. I could only conclude that it wasn\’t the best environment, and people did not feel supported.
Yes, do say fake things. Because even though it sounds shallow, it gives people hope. A negative attitude doesn\’t help anyone, especially when it comes from a manager.
