I would like to strangle my roommate.
For the past week, it seems as if she has dabbled in downloading some huge video files, because I can barely surf the Internet at the usual speeds anymore. When I get pissed off, I just walk over to the router and disconnect her cable. Then the DSL is all mine again. For both my lappytop and my desktop.
But why? Should I complain? Hogs my bandwidth?
At first I was worried that her computer had contracted a virus which would have affected my desktop (with an illegal copy of windows thus I could not download patches). And I repeatedly scanned her computer for open ports, not quite sure what she was doing.
Then when I disconnected her cable, I heard the windows warning sound, indicative of some program disconnected. Kazaa perhaps. But so annoying. Possibly bittorrent. But I rarely download stuff. Can she go away at least. Download from somewhere else? Thanks.
