Someone I met recently, someone I respect…hoping to be a good friend or the like…asks me, \”why are you up so late?\”
I had just started an argument with someone. Do I tell him that I am still up because I am debating? Do I tell him that some guy is bugging me and it\’s getting annoying?
I would love to share random tidbits of my life. The drama. But I have found that most people can\’t relate.
So instead, I say, \”I was supposed to be sleeping…\” Then I ask him in return, \”What are you doing up so late?\”
And he doesn\’t even pursue the question. Perhaps out of politeness, but maybe he\’s just empty like that.
