I am still embarassed about the dents I have on my powerbook. So for the longest time, I have been placing my hands in the right places to cover the dents that happened when I dropped it. Poor baby laptop!!!

Three times someone has asked me \”what happened\”.

I saw my research partner with his 15\” Titanium pb. It was flawless. No obvious dent at least. I know that for the masters program at cmu, I would have to use a laptop for user testing. How embarassing it would be to ask a user to test out something on my dented laptop?

Yesterday, in a fit of ambition, I went to the garage. Put a cloth over the dent and then hit the dents with the hammers in an effort to turn back time. But I was so afraid of scarring the laptop again that I didn\’t hit it that hard. Instead, I heard a dull thud. I removed the cloth and saw that the dent was still there.

I read on one forum how they compared laptop dents to car dents. That 99% of all cars in America will get at least one scratch or a dent. It\’s always that regret that we overestimated something or underestimated the distance. The mistake. That is the only thing that I can truly regret in the last year.
