I first met Seth when he found my blog online. We met in person 11 days later to go see Spiderman. It was his second time seeing it. And today when we went to see another movie, he suddenly suggested that we go to see Spiderman 2 when it comes out. And to my surprise, he added another comment. \”Won\’t it be the greatest ending? After spiderman 2, we will never see each other again!\”
I just laughed back. \”Yes another…I see you never!\”
And for some reason, that made me sad. When we were eating dinner, I felt suddenly tired. He always had the ability to keep talking. Then he would go into expert subjects that I would usually fib my through as if I knew the subject too. But as usual to my embarassment, he could figure out that I was just BSing. i.e. today the topic was scripting. So there. But what is it about him that makes him so…temporarily interesting.
I have introduced him to my other friends. And they have never said that he was odd. Or strange. Or weird. In fact, Tanner saw him as a regular gaming buddy. Another movie afficionado. Naim saw him as another huge music know-it-all. And me, I see him…as one of my strangest hard-to-know friends.
A few years ago, I mistook his advances as something more. But oh it was nothing more. He\’s always consistently shallow. Yet I wonder why I would miss him at all. He\’s going to Washington U in Seattle. and the way I see it, we would never make the advance to say, \”Come visit me!\” We\’re just not that kind of friends at all. Depressing, perhaps.
So there it is. Every time I leave somewhere, there will always be people I miss more than others. I won\’t know who it would be until I leave. And in the case of moving on…it\’s always up to both parties to make an effort to stay in touch. If neither of us keeps in contact, it\’s both of our losses. All that is left is us feeling the nostalgia of what once was.

For a man can lose neither the past nor the future; for how can one take from him that which is not his? So remember these two points: first, that each thing is of like form from everlasting and comes round again in its cycle, and that it signifies not whether a man shall look upon the same things for a hundred years or two hundred, or for an infinity of time; second, that the longest lived and the shortest lived man, when they come to die, lose one and the same thing. by free online poker
